Hubo Handball won the men’s final and Handbal Sint-Truiden the women’s final of the Lotto Handball Cup. In the men’s final, Sezoens Achilles Bocholt went into the break trailing 12–11. Hubo Handball stepped up a gear in the second half and went on to win the Lotto Handball Cup for the first time in the merged club’s history.

In the women’s final, Handbal Sint-Truiden won the Lotto Handball Cup for the fourth consecutive time, and for the seventh time in their history. At half-time, the score was 12–17 in favour of the Limburg side. Ultimately, Sint-Truiden won the final 23–27.

Handbal Sint-Truiden and Sezoens Achilles Bocholt win the Lotto Handball Cup

On Saturday afternoon, the finals of the Lotto Handball Cup were played at the Alverberg in Hasselt. In the women’s final, Handbal Sint-Truiden defeated Sprimont 21–23. Halfway through the match, Sint-Truiden was leading 10–12. This is the sixth cup win in Sint-Truiden’s history. In the men’s competition, Sezoens Achilles Bocholt defeated Hubo Handbal 28–31. At half-time, Hubo Handbal was leading 14–13. This is Bocholt’s eighth cup win in its history.

National Lottery and Royal Belgian Handball Federation launch Lotto Handball Cup

The Royal Belgian Handball Federation (KBHB) and the National Lottery today presented the Lotto Handball Cup, the new name of the Belgian Cup competition. During the press conference at the international tournament in Lokeren, the draw for the men’s and women’s semi-finals was also held. The finals of the Lotto Handball Cup will be played on Saturday 19 April in the Alverberg in Hasselt.

Women’s handball Sint-Truiden and men’s HC Visé won the finals of the Women’s and Men’s Belgian Cup on Saturday afternoon.  Handbal Sint-Truiden defeated Hubo Handbal 28 – 26 in a hard-fought match. In a thrilling final, HC Visé BM had to chase for 50 minutes before finally winning the match and winning 30 – 34.
