National coach Yérime Sylla announced his wide World Cup squad of 35 players on Wednesday morning. This selection will be reduced to 18 players by mid-December.
On Sunday 06/11 the new generation of the Men17 came together for the first time in Groot-Bijgaarden. The parents of the players were informed in group about the operations of the new team, just as the players were given a briefing. Afterwards there was intensive training from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm. The current selection originally comes from a group of 95 players that was eventually reduced to 34 (including reserve players). Their first major assignment will be the four-country tournament that will be played in Lokeren in December. 18 players will be selected for that tournament.
Led by Hub Maes and Roel Kiebooms, the future Black Arrows gathered on 31/10 in Hofstade and 01/11 in Tongeren. 40 players compete for a place in the new generation of Young Black Arrows. In December they gather again for a 3-day internship in Lokeren. Good luck to all!
