INVITATION TO AN INFORMATION SESSION ON THE NEW REGULATIONS AND THE BELGIAN DEVELOPMENT PLAN

The Royal Belgian Handball Union (RBHU) invites clubs and interested individuals to an information session on the new regulations and the Belgian Development Plan

In preparation for the 2026-2027 season, the RBHU will publish its new regulations. In addition to several technical adjustments, these also include a number of significant substantive changes. Furthermore, a Belgian Development Plan for national clubs has been developed and will be implemented gradually over the coming years.

To present these changes and the vision behind them, the RBHU is organizing an information session on Saturday, August 29, 2026. This session is primarily intended for national clubs, but all interested individuals are also welcome.

On the agenda:

Legal structure reform

A completely revised legal framework and standardized procedures within Belgian handball.

New jurisdictional bodies and key regulatory changes.

Belgian Development Plan for national clubs

Vision and objectives of the development plan.

  • Role and operation of the National Development Board (NDB).
  • Gradual implementation of development criteria, particularly regarding:
  • Youth training;
  • Coach qualifications;
  • Development of Belgian players;
  • Professionalization of club operations.
  • Livestreaming and Sportway.
  • Infrastructure and accreditation requirements.
  • Implementation schedule, transitional measures, and phased rollout.

Following the presentation, time will be allotted for questions and discussions with participants regarding the implementation of the development plan.

The information session will take place before the 2026 Belgian Super Cup, which will be held at the Sporthal Alverberg.
