In the early evening in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, the draw was made for the qualifications of the 2026 European Handball Championship, which will be held from 3 to 20 December in Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Turkey.
In these qualifiers, Belgium will face Germany, Slovenia and North Macedonia. A total of six matches will be played.

Belgium loses to Luxembourg and can gradually forget about the European Championship
The Red Wolves suffered a painful 24-27 defeat against Luxembourg on Sunday afternoon at home. Halfway through the game, the visitors were leading 13-14. After three defeats and one victory and the tough programme the Belgians have, qualifying for the European Championship seems almost impossible.

The Red Wolves scored a convincing victory against Luxembourg on Wednesday evening. Halfway through the game, the score was 13-16 in favour of the Belgians. The match ended 22-32. After three matches, the Belgians are third in group 5 with 2 points. Earlier in the evening, vice world champions Croatia won 29 – 35 against the Czech Republic. Croatia leads with the maximum of six points.
